Welcome to the Medicine Hat Regional Human Resources Association! Our mission is to be a resource and to provide opportunity for professional and workforce development, networking and advocacy in the field of Human Resources in the Palliser Region.
The Association was incorporated in November of 2007 after several local HR professionals and stakeholders came together to gauge interest in revitalizing the (former) Medicine Hat Personnel Association. Feedback from an initial meeting of employers, supervisors, managers, and service providers working in the field of HR indicated there was certainly sufficient interest and need for the creation of networking, professional development, and workforce development opportunities within the region.
In the months that followed a new Board of Directors was formed, a mission, strategic plan, bylaws, and committee structures were put in place, and the new organization was established with the support of the (former) Medicine Hat Personnel Association, Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA), Alberta Employment and Immigration, and the South East Alberta Workforce Development Strategy.
The MHRHRA offers professionals employed in a Human Resource role in our region new and exciting opportunities:
* Networking
* Foster partnerships in workforce development and other strategies
* Professional development
* Access to labour market information
* Sharing/Aquiring expertise
* Support for those in the Human Resources field
* Information on theory/regulations
* Advocacy/lobbying role
